With baby number 3 on the way, some room shuffling was on the docket for this growing family. To begin, big sister was ready for a room refresh. We shifted furniture between 3 bedrooms, added a coordinating dresser and fun curtains, styled a gallery wall, and organized the closet and toys.

I loved meeting this family in early 2019, ready for some changes after making some well-loved furniture work for years raising children. A recent listen to a TED talk by Ingrid Fettell Lee, author of the book JOYFUL, inspired her to really think about how she wanted her home to feel - pulled together, uncluttered, yet whimsical and full of JOY (speaking my language)! Following an in person consultation, I put together an action plan that helped with editing, layout and some simple shifts using items they already had. We discussed color, texture, layout and art. I love the DIY progress they have made!

Containment in the pantry is key, whether you decant items like baking supplies and snacks, or you label each shelf with a specific category like “breakfast” or “snacks”. For a narrow deep pantry, bins act as drawers to help you utilize items stored in the back more easily. Turntables work perfectly for cans and condiments and don’t forget the real estate on the back of the door! Add a door organizer or even command hooks for aprons if you have a more minimal pantry.
